Why peer health educator needed

basic Knowledge and Cooperation Matter in Health is need let’s see why

One thing is certain: whatever the dangers of knowledge (and they shouldn’t be underestimated), they are nothing compared to the risks of ignorance. There are also dangers in leaving everything to the doctor and playing no part in your own illness. Modern medicine needs the patient’s cooperation. You can’t just drop your bad leg on the doctor’s desk and say, “Have that ready for Thursday.” You have to carry it, rest it, exercise it, and cooperate in its treatment. And cooperation means having some knowledge, at least.

This doesn’t mean we must all become amateur doctors. There’s no reason why we should all know detailed information about the body and its illnesses. Those who want to learn will find sources of information, but they may struggle to absorb it without a professional motive. Sensation seekers will soon move on to other interests. Facts are necessary, but enough is enough. Health education is more about getting rid of wrong information before adding new knowledge. Some misinformation might be too deeply rooted to remove. Children are our real hope. Their minds are still open, and their fears are not yet formed. They might even pass on what they learn to their parents.

There won’t be a set pattern or rigid system If, in correcting harmful ideas and promoting helpful ones, we jump from head to foot, from inside to outside, or from birth to death, it doesn’t matter! The goal is to develop a healthy attitude toward illness and health.
